News & Impact
Queer Running Club was established in January 2019 and is a registered CIC.
QRC is political by its very nature. When queer people support one another it’s a political act of radical care against systemic oppressions that have historically held our community back, trivialised our experience and marginalised our existence.
Queer Running Club is not a big business, all funds raised from ticket sales contributes to the running cost of the club, from paying the queer and trans individuals who dedicate their time to coaching, organising events and races to fundraising, designing merchandise and making Queer Running Club more than just a run.
We regularly fundraise for our community and have donated to individuals gender affirming surgeries and LGBTQIA+ charities including Positive East and Mermaids.
We have several ways that we can support one another via pay it forward tickets or, we offer discounted wiggle room tickets.
Please email us directly if you’re on a lower income and cannot afford the runs at the moment.
Open Evening 2025
Every quarter we host an open evening to welcome new runners to our running club. These sessions are an introduction to what we do at QRC, they are great for beginners and an opportunity to meet some of our existing club members.
We always finish with a social afterwards and can guarantee you will come for a run and stay for the community (or just the free pizza!) our next one is in February at QRC East's home - Wing and a Prayer pub.
Utopia Zine
Someone once said that each step we take should lead toward building our dream of UTOPIA. And friends, we couldn’t agree more. But the only way we're going to make it happen is by building it together. In potentially the queerest, sportiest, and sexiest of collaborations, Queers On Wheels, Queer Surf Club, Queer Running Club, Goal Diggers FC, and Knockout come together to bring you UTOPIA, a hot-off-the-press zine celebrating queer sports, queer bodies, queer community, and queer joy in all its GLORY.
Over 70+ pages, discover intimate, provocative, and JOYFUL portraits of different members of the clubs, shot by some of the most exciting queer photographers in London.
Dive into visual stories on how these clubs are building community and read exclusive Q&As with members, crafted by writers from UK's queer sports communities.
✨ All profits will be donated to Mermaids, the UK’s leading charity supporting trans, non-binary and gender-questioning children and young people and their families. ✨

Runner’s World
It's always a pleasure to shout about why Queer Running Club is so important, thank you to Runner's World for featuring us in their article about the Third Boom in running.
So good to be featured alongside some of our local Hackney running friends including OutRunners and Your Friendly Runners. No club operates in a silo - we are always happy to pass these guys on the streets of Hackney!
TRANSCEND ‘24
We did it! TRANSCEND '24 was beautiful, so much trans and queer joy as far as the eye could see! Thank you to all of you who showed up on the day, walking, running, cheering and dancing your way around the route on Hackney Marshes.
Head to the website to see the photos!
BBC News
Not every day you're featured on the Beeb, eh?! Shout out to our comms manager Danielle for applying for and receiving the Pride in London funding that helped us bring TRANSCEND to life for our community. Can't wait to get planning the next one!
